already there gathers together a gallery of vivid vitalities in The REACH’s Studio K. Timed entry reservations invite small groups to follow swells of music, light, and dance through this immersive installation. Audiences wind their way through vibrant rooms, sharpening their senses towards that which is often filtered out. Audiences may find themselves singing along, dancing with giants, or laying on the grass. Within these halls the scales are tipped, dwelling is essential, and togetherness is possible.

When attending already there, you would encounter:

  • A 25-minute experience moving through a series of hallways and rooms created by fabric walls.

  • Low lighting, with moments of brighter light.

  • Recorded music including instruments and voices. Recorded sounds from houses, cities, and the outdoors. Music and sound will at moments be quiet, and others loud and filling the whole room.

  • Physical sensations during sections that include fans blowing, speakers close to the audience, and a bench covered in grass.

  • Options to sit within the installation spaces, while being invited to stand, walk around, and meander within each space.

  • Moments of surprise, including the arrival of projection, billowing of fabric, and sound/light occurring both far away and near.

  • Light/sound/projection to signal audiences when to move from one space to the next.

  • Two entrances and exits. The entrance door is in the model room, the exit door is past the grass bench. The floor plan below was the route the audience took:
